THE STAGE

Different line of business has different platforms for practicing their profession. Like lawyers and courtrooms, teachers and classrooms, carpenters and workshops, surgeons and their theater and so on. One place a musician would always want to be is on the stage, because this is where the action is. This is where you connect with your listeners with freedom (without any form of restrictions).

A musician ones said, “There are two magical places in a musician’s life, ‘The STAGE’ and ‘The STUDIO.’” (We will discuss about the other magical place in the next tip).  Our focus now is the stage.

Always have it in mind that whenever you find yourself on one of these ‘holy grounds’ (Stage) PERFORMANCE IS EXPECTED OF YOU.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

On the stage, TIME is of outmost importance and it’s always limited. Use and manage your time prudently, if you are given ten minutes, please take eight minutes. The person inviting you would like to invite you again.

If possible, know the stage before your performance.

Be direct.

Be precise.

Be confident.

Appreciate your listeners.

Keep your energy in check, don’t look tired on stage.

Preserve a bottle of water close, the tension and ‘stage fright’ is enough to dehydrate you.

Again, leave when the applause is loud, you don’t want to get your listeners bored. Other musicians are almost certainly queuing up waiting for you.
